Week 2: 30 min run @ aerobic pace


In order to speed up, you have to slow down. Say what??? Yup. Slow. Down. It didn't make sense to me at first, but there are two paces --- aero pace and race pace. "Aero" for aerobic... this allows your body to sustain longer runs, open up capillaries, etc. etc. It's a whole lot more complicated than it sounds, so I'll leave it at that. Race pace is where you want to be on race day. So, this week, we're slowing down... at least trying to. During our run on Saturday, I was a full minute faster than I had in mind. Oops. I have to admit, running in the heat is annoying and challenging BUT helps with endurance.

So, slow it down... I remind myself.
