Project 52: Week 3

My first half marathon of the year was pretty awesome. It set the tone for this year's list of races. I haven't confirmed any of them yet, but I plan to sit down and hash it out after my doctor's appointment next week. Ugh. He is never one to tell me I need to stop running and I am fortunate for that. Because, really, I don't know what I would do without it. Sure, there are other sports I could get into, but there's just SOMETHING about running.
This marathon went surprising well... why? Aside from the injury, I caught "the" flu on Friday. The exact flu that has been circulating and debilitating everyone around me. I promised myself I would finish the race no matter what... thankfully, with the help of some cough drops, Mucinex, and Tylenol, I made it! Also, it totally helped having a running buddy to encourage and look out for me! Thanks, Trish!
After the race, we ate at Black Cow Cafe and reflected. There were many improvements to this race from last year - more miles in Disneyland, an earlier start time, and awesome swag & post race goodies! I recommend this easy, flat race to all runners - no matter the level. Just hurry - the race fills up quick!
