On the train...

My running schedule for fall is on hold. I have a recurring injury on my left foot. After the Tinkerbell Half Marathon, I saw the doctor and he told me nothing is wrong structurally (thank goodness) but it would require an additional 2-6 weeks of monitoring the pain and the nerves would need 6-12 months to heal. Oy. So, needless to say I've been doing a lot of this...
Hitting the gym, icing, and elevating. I also love me some new running shoes, so I had to do that! Yesterday's run was the first time I ran with no pain. Such a big milestone for me. I'm hoping to be up to speed on everything by the end of the year. Pardon the pun. I would like to get through the next couple of races and see the doctor again before I start training for the fall.
I'm pretty excited for the next two races... the Hot Chocolate 15K is my running buddy's race of choice for this year. Instead of a swag bag, we get a super cute sweater. So awesome! And, there's a hot chocolate with all the yummy sides waiting for you at the finish line. My friend, Karen, planned to run the San Diego Safari Park Half Marathon for her birthday this year. Paul mentioned this race a couple of years ago and I'm so excited to do it this year! The route seems fun & easy.
There are a few races I'm thinking of doing in the fall. Wish me luck!
